In addition, she has held several leadership roles from department chair to SIPAAA coordinator. Most recently, Ms. Alahrie Aziz-Sims worked on the Area level as a literacy coach. The focus of her work has been to improve student learning through the development of CRS aligned curriculum, the use of formative and interim assessments, and a continuous focus on data. Ms. Aziz-Sims is currently working on completing her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy, Language, and Culture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her focus is on adolescent literacy, and she is currently researching the relationship between reading fluency and writing fluency. We are pleased to add Ms. Aziz-Sims to our staff as Assistant Principal/Teaching and Learning.
